Finally Finished - A Bit Askew - and some Christmas sewing from A Prim and (not so) Proper Quilter

I took this one out of the bin in March and thought…no. It went back in the bin.

And just like that, it was 3 months later and the deadline for it was less than a week away. Funny how that works out.

So almost 3 months ago I got the top on the design wall and thought, that’s not so bad:

Then I thought, does it really need the borders? 12 years ago I had planned, and cut, two borders. But I was really liking what I was seeing on the design wall.

But what was I ...

Baby quilt 1 is finished and gifted; Baby quilt 2 is done and almost gifted! from A Prim and (not so) Proper Quilter

Yay! So many things got in my way of completing Baby Quilt 1, but it was finished AN ENTIRE 2 WEEKS before the baby shower last month!

There is nothing remarkable about this quilt other than it is DONE. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how I’ve allowed interruptions and distractions get in my way, and about 7 weeks ago on a Sunday I told the Hubs, “You go on; I have to finish this.” By the time he returned it was completed and I had moved on to work on a receiving blanket.

And, this is the first time in several years that I am able to celebrate #NQD by QUILTING. And, it’s the first day of a long-awaited vacation and today may be my only chance to do it, so this will be a very short post!

The last item in PB22 was a bunch of patriotic fabrics ...

Another small project - Fun and Done from A Prim and (not so) Proper Quilter

...from another online class!

FWIW, online classes are a necessity given our current global pandemic state. I know I've mentioned that I'm not necessarily a fan, but remember when I said how much I clicked the "Buy Now" button? This was the result of one of those moments.

I've done some collage work and while I like it, I think my technique can be improved. I subscribe to Emily Taylor's (Collage Quilter) (NAYY) newsletter and she offered in... November? December? a free online class showing how to use her method to create her Winter Cardinal pattern ...

Some Christmas makes from A Prim and (not so) Proper Quilter

I call them Christmas makes, but they're more like "just because" makes...

...because I didn't start them until after Christmas.

Not to run on about how much I wasn't able to make last year, but I didn't make anyone a thing for Christmas. I made a hot pad in early December and took absolutely no joy in it. So now we have a new hot pad (well, I still have to sew down the loop), and while I would normally feel a tremendous amount of guilt for NOT making Christmas gifts (for my kids), this past ...
